About this Role

IFS InfraSource is looking for an M&R Field Technician to operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair gas facilities.

What You'll Do

Duties such as:

 

  • Operate, maintain, test, adjust and repair valves, regulators, controllers, valve positioners, relief valves, automatic shut-off valves, filters/separators, liquid removal equipment, pipeline heaters, pilot heaters, pipelines and piping, and all other gas transmission and high-pressure distribution equipment
  • Respond to emergencies on the gas transmission and distribution
  • Follow all required safety procedures including completion of pre job briefings, clearance coordination center compliance, calls to Gas Control, and SOP reviews.
  • Install, adjust, repair and maintain all types of large capacity meter sets, including meters, regulators, relief and security valves, filters/strainers, valves, and all other associated equipment and fittings
  • Inspect, calibrate, and repair volume correcting
  • Analyze and troubleshoot field conditions for proper operation of the transmission and distribution systems and large capacity meter sets.
  • Maintain filter/separators, including cleaning, and replacement of filter
  • Maintain and repair fences, valve pits, grounds, buildings at regulator and meter
  • Haul temporary regulator stations, mufflers, and other skid mounted
  • Perform walking patrols of gas transmission pipelines, including inspection and repair of pipeline crossings and attachments.
  • Pick up pressure recording charts and analyze station
  • Use test equipment provided to complete required
  • Complete all required work documentation on paper or electronic
  • Take reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are
  • Operate pipe locators, gas/leak detectors, power tools in a safe
  • Operate equipment such as vacuum units, air compressors, winches, cranes, hoists, and all other equipment needed to perform duties.
  • Keep assigned equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly
  • Report gas system and meter set irregularities and abnormal operating
  • Complete all required training modules on
  • Perform similar or less skilled work in this classification or, when diversity of workload requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower
  • Perform duties in accordance with all of the Company’s safety rules and operating standards and practices

What You'll Bring

  • High school education or the equivalent
  • Ability to detect the odor of natural gas
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read and comprehend training materials and
  • Have the physical ability to perform required tasks
  • Have a working knowledge of the use of blueprints and
  • Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of transmission system operations and emergency response procedures

 

This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
