We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Constructability Lead to serve as a critical liaison between preconstruction, field operations and the BIM/VDC department. This role focuses on reviewing contract documents and specifications to create clear, coordinated preplanning drawings that guide the project team and ensure the electrical scope is fully constructible, code-compliant, and aligned with project requirements.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Project Scope & Design Review – Perform detailed reviews of contract drawings, specifications, and installation requirements to fully understand project scope and constraints.  Apply comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems and commercial electrical construction, specifically in complex environments such as aviation, data centers, and healthcare facilities.  Perform constructability reviews using field experience to identify challenges early and ensure practical installation strategies.

BIM Modeling & Leadership – Lead the integration of BIM models with field installation practices to ensure constructability and accurate field execution.  Develop initial 2D markups and preplanning documentation using Bluebeam to guide project planning and BIM modeling effort including conduit routing and populating conduit schedules.  Update models and documentation with as-built conditions throughout the construction lifecycle.  Ensure that the latest IME Installation Standards are being followed and serve as a resource for standardization whenever necessary.

Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution – Conduct QA/QC reviews of BIM generated installation drawings, ensuring alignment with field conditions and construction means and methods.  Identify design conflicts and generate RFI’s as needed; proactively contribute to resolving coordination issues.

Collaboration & Coordination – Collaborate with project supervision and the design team to drive model progress and issue construction-ready drawings.  Act as the point of contact for early-stage and ongoing design coordination across multiple projects.  Maintain clear and consistent communication with your project team.  In instances where needed, act as a mediator between engineering, project management, filed operations, BIM, and Prefab departments.

Additional duties as assigned.
