About this Role

MG Dyess is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator with a strong background in pipeline and midstream construction to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for both new and existing clients. This position requires hands-on experience with material takeoffs, labor and equipment costing, and the ability to interpret complex construction documents and specifications.

 

Location: This role can be based anywhere but will have travel requirements to various parts of the area's of operations

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and coordinate pipeline construction bids from concept through final submission.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFPs to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Develop accurate material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for mainline, gathering, and facility projects.
  • Maintain and update historical cost databases and vendor/supplier pricing.
  • Support bid reviews, client presentations, and project handoff meetings.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Field Supervisors to ensure consistency and accuracy of estimates.
  • Evaluate subcontractor proposals and incorporate into final pricing models.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • 3–7 years of experience estimating pipeline or midstream construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HDD, mainline pipeline, compressor stations, and midstream infrastructure.
  • Experience with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and industry codes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to travel as job needs demand
