Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Caldwell team. This role is central to the success of our operations, responsible for preparing and overseeing cost estimates for large-scale electrical utility construction projects, particularly those in Transmission & Distribution (T&D).
The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, accuracy in estimating, and the ability to mentor junior estimators while collaborating cross-functionally with project managers, and clients.
Responsibilities:
Scope Review & Analysis
· Analyze project plans, specifications, and RFPs to assess scope, complexity, and deliverables.
· Interpret technical documentation and determine estimating requirements.
Cost Estimating & Budgeting
· Prepare and oversee detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
· Perform quantity take-offs and maintain comprehensive cost databases.
· Evaluate pre-approval budgets and construction narratives.
Collaboration & Communication
· Partner with project managers, and clients to ensure estimates are aligned and competitive.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and design reviews.
· Develop scope letters, bid proposals, and vendor solicitations.
Project Support & Compliance
· Support project execution teams with pricing, scope clarifications, and cost-control insights.
· Assist in preparing and reviewing change orders and cost-to-complete estimates.
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
Mentorship & Team Development
· Provide leadership and mentorship to junior estimators.
· Promote best practices in estimating and help foster team growth and development.
