About this Role

NorthStar Energy Solutions is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Power Trainer to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. This role is essential to the success of our workforce development and safety performance. The ideal candidate will bring extensive Transmission and Distribution (T&D) field experience, a strong background in technical training, and a commitment to supporting operational excellence through education. 

What You'll Do

  • Deliver technical, hands-on training focused on Transmission and Distribution field operations 
  • Lead training sessions on key topics such as excavation safety, job-site protocols, construction standards, and operational best practices 
  • Support onboarding programs for new hires and skill development for existing crews 
  • Collaborate with safety and compliance teams to align training content with current utility regulations and internal safety policies 
  • Serve as a knowledge resource on power line construction, safety protocols, and T&D-specific utility standards 
  • Provide training support in both classroom and field environments, reinforcing learning with real-world applications 
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance learning outcomes 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training records and certifications 

What You'll Bring

  • HS Diploma/GED is required  
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the power industry, with a background in Transmission, Distribution, or both 
  • 1-2 years of experience in technical training, specifically related to T&D operations 
  • Strong working knowledge of power line construction techniques, equipment, and safety procedures 
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus 
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, utility safety regulations, and best practices in excavation and high-voltage environments 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with field personnel at all levels 
  • Ability to travel is required
