Crane Rigger

WT Byler, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a skilled Rigger to join our growing team for a travel position located in Cameron, LA initially.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient rigging of loads, ensuring that all operations adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices. You'll work closely with engineers and operators to plan and execute rigging operations that meet the specific needs of our diverse projects.

• Review and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine rigging requirements for various projects.
• Coordinate and execute rigging operations, including the installation and movement of heavy equipment and materials.
• Utilize hoists, cranes, and other rigging equipment effectively while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance on rigging equipment to guarantee operational safety and reliability.
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to develop rigging plans that optimize workflow and efficiency.
• Train and mentor junior rigging staff on best practices and safety procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in rigging preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a rigger in construction or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of rigging techniques, safety standards, and equipment operation.
• Ability to work at heights and in various environmental conditions.
• Certification from a recognized rigging program or organization.
• Experience with specialized rigging equipment and techniques, including wire rope and synthetic slings.
• Strong understanding of load dynamics and weight distribution.
• Proficiency in the use of rigging tools and equipment, including hoists, pulleys, and cranes.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and standards applicable to rigging operations.
• Ability to perform calculations related to load weight, pressure, and angles for effective rigging.
