Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking a Senior Superintendent to join their growing team!
As a Senior Superintendent at IME, you will play a strategic leadership role in driving excellence in Service and Special Projects, with a critical focus on operational efficiency, financial performance, and market growth. This role provides direct management of Superintendents within the department with indirect oversight of Project Managers to ensure optimal execution of service and special project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Market Growth: Spearhead the strategic development and expansion of the Service and Special Projects division, with a primary objective of increasing revenue, gross margin, and overall profitability. Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to penetrate and grow targeted campuses and vertical markets, identifying new opportunities and competitive advantages. Work with your supervisor to conduct in-depth market analysis to inform strategic decision-making, resource allocation, and business development initiatives.
Operational Excellence and Resource Management: Orchestrate comprehensive resource planning and allocation across Service and Special Projects, ensuring optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and supplies. Implement advanced planning methodologies to streamline site logistics, workforce coordination, and project execution strategies. Develop and refine standardized processes and procedures for other Superintendents and Project Managers within the department, focusing on efficiency, quality, and consistency.
Performance and Financial Oversight: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for service and special projects, with a rigorous focus on productivity, profitability, and operational excellence. Conduct detailed financial analyses to track project performance, identify optimization opportunities, and drive continuous improvement. Ensure strict adherence to IME processes and procedures across all projects. Work with the department Project Managers to help develop and manage project budgets, overhead schedules, and financial forecasts with a strategic approach to resource allocation.
Safety and Quality Management: Champion a proactive safety culture by developing and implementing comprehensive safety management strategies. Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of Project Master Safety Plans across all service and special projects. Implement robust quality control mechanisms, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to maintain the highest levels of safety and quality performance.
Team Development and Leadership: Provide mentorship and professional development for Superintendents and Project Managers within the department, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Implement leadership training programs and performance management systems to elevate team capabilities. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive organizational excellence.
Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors. Oversee onboarding, and performance management processes. Ensure seamless project handoffs, system transitions, and contractual compliance.
Project Lifecycle Management: Provide advanced oversight of project lifecycles, from pre-construction planning through execution and closeout. Implement sophisticated scheduling techniques, including 12-week, 6-week, and 4-week look-ahead planning. Develop comprehensive documentation processes, including as-built drawings, panel schedules, and project updates. Lead project closeout meetings to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

The majority of the time you will work on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
Benefits Overview:
If union, this position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement, which outlines the applicable terms and conditions. Wages are determined based on experience and certifications, with benefits specified in the corresponding collective bargaining agreement.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $172,000
*This is a non-exempt bargaining role and is eligible for overtime.
