About this Role

The Controller will oversee the Potelco and InfraSource accounting operations, manage financial activities, ensure compliance with regulations, while also providing financial analysis and accounting management support.

 

The base salary range for this role is: $140,000-$160,000

What You'll Do

  • Financial Reporting: Maintain trial balance, prepare, and review journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, federal rules and regulations and ensure compliance with GAAP.  Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
  • Policy Creation: Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Staff Management: Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operations, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Audit Coordination: Oversee and coordinate internal and external audits and ensure the accuracy of recorded data
  • Communication: Communicate financial information to management and foster cross functional collaboration
  • Process Improvement and Controls: refine accounting processes and develop efficiencies with appropriate internal control safeguards
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned

What You'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Hands-on financial management experience
  • Proficiency in financial accounting software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with general ledger, monthly close cycle, account reconciliations, financial statements, accounts payable, and payroll
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to deadlines/details, and accuracy
  • Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Construction and/or job cost accounting experience preferred
  • Adherence to tight deadlines and quick turnaround for accounting deliverables
  • Must pass a mandatory drug test

Education and Experience Qualifications:

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Equivalent
  • 7+ Years of Relative Accounting Experience
  • 3+ Years Prior Experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Equivalent
  • 10+ Years of Relative Accounting Experience
  • 5+ Years Prior Experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $140,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
