About this Role

The Substation Engineer will be responsible for leading and/or providing assistance with substation design activities, both individually and collaboratively. This position entails collaboration with a team of engineers and designers to ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all pertinent regulations and standards. The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, and possess expertise in high voltage substation projects.

What You'll Do

  • Engineer projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. 
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations. 
  • Electrical engineering: design, equipment sizing, component specifications
  • Assisting with site plan development and civil requirements
  • Responsible for drafting and assisting the drafting department

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.
  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • P.E. license preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting external customers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
