About this Role

Probst Electric is looking for a couple of certified crane operators to operate cranes or bucket trucks. 

What You'll Do

  • Learn and follow safety regulations.
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
  • Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as track hoes, backhoes, forklifts, skid steers, etc.
  • Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, shovels, graders, or related equipment.
  • Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain.
  • Excavate and drill holes
  • Right of Way clearing and reclamation
  • Direct and teach laborers and ground men
  • Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment, using a grease gun, oilcans, and hand tools
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
  • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Three to five years of experience in heavy equipment operation 
  • Loader and Forklift experience
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License required
  • Valid DOT Medical Certification
  • Experience digging around existing utilities
  • Travel required for continued employment
  • Pass pre-employment and other drug screenings
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations
