About this Role

In this role, the individual will provide essential legal support to management teams within the Quanta South Region companies across different operational areas, focusing mainly on handling contractual agreements, offering operational advice, and assisting in risk prevention. This position is a perfect match for an emerging legal professional who is looking to broaden their knowledge and skills through active participation in every phase of the contract lifecycle management—from the preliminary review and negotiation stages to drafting and ultimate enforcement. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to closely examine the legal and commercial aspects of requests for quotations, contractual agreements, and other relevant legal and technical documents, ensuring adherence to regulations and protecting the organization's interests. What You'll Do

  • Works directly with Legal team, regional management team, and Operating Unit management in a collaborative and supportive manner.
  • Reviews and analyzes customer documents to identify potential commercial and legal risks and provides creative, pragmatic solutions.
  • Negotiates terms and conditions directly with external customers and vendors.
  • Prepares contract and various other legal documents for signature and assists with the drafting and preparation of proposals.
  • Assists the businesses in determining prime contract flow down terms and conditions for incorporation into supplier and subcontract agreements and ensure internal departments know HR/insurance requirements.
  • Supports the effective administration of prime contracts and subcontracts, including change management.
  • Provides counsel and recommendations to Leadership and Operations regarding claims management, claims preparation, warranty administration and dispute resolution.
  • Converses with, listens to and provides counsel and recommendations to Project Managers and other functional Project Team members regarding contractual and commercial implications of potential project strategies, decisions and commercial settlements.
  • Provides functional representation in addressing commercial matters with customers.
  • Assists Parent Company General Counsel and Chief Counsel of Operations as needed.
  • Liaises with the Tax, Insurance, Finance, and other departments in-house as applicable to support Operations.
  • Travels to and participates in project meetings and dispute resolution proceedings as needed.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

What You'll Bring

  • JD and licensed to practice law
  • 5+ years of contracts-related experience
  • In-House expereince within the telecom or construction space is highly preferred
  • Substantial experience in reviewing and negotiating EPC and related telecom or construction agreements
  • Substantial experience with claims, change orders and risk management
  • Previous in-house experience preferred
  • Licensed with the Texas State Bar
