About this Role

We are currently seeking applicants to fill the position of HDD / Directional Drilling Operator with an active CDL.

What You'll Do

  • Operate horizontal directional drill rig and provide training and assistance to coworkers.
  • Perform maintenance of equipment fluid levels, etc.
  • Understand various ground conditions: rock, clay, sand, cobble, etc.
  • Operate excavation equipment.
  • Perform routine labor (potholing, equipment setup, conduit, duct, cable placement, set.
  • Ensure cleanliness of job sites.
  • Perform simple math for accuracy of drilling.
  • Perform manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Analyze job locations for utility lines, permitting, and traffic control in order to complete construction activities without quality defects, safety incidents or any type of property damage.
  • Complete daily inspections and reporting of maintenance issues on vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Complete bore logs, timesheets, and daily completion forms accurately and legibly.
  • Operate all vehicles, equipment and tools while adhering to company safety standards.
  • Works efficiently to achieve a high level of productivity daily.

What You'll Bring

  • Class A CDL license
  • Minimum 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to directional drills, HDD locating systems trencher, backhoe & excavators.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Reads utility locates, coordinates potholing, and ensures the safety of existing facilities.
  • Operates motor vehicles during travel to/from jobsites.
  • Positive attitude, hard work ethic, and a priority for safety
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
