About this Role

QUES (PAR Western Line Contractors LLC dba) safely provides engineering, procurement and construction services for comprehensive infrastructure needs in the electric power, oil, and natural gas industries. QUES has the knowledge and expertise to handle a full spectrum of projects. From the most straightforward, single-component installation to the most complex, multi-state project, QUES handles the job safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.  We are looking for an Electrical Distribution Engineer to provide engineering, design and drafting in the preparation of all projects assigned. They will also provide assistance/direction on engineering projects and establish priorities, while providing innovation to support the long-term vision of the department and company. The Safety Coordinator plans, organizes, implements, administrates, and evaluates the effectiveness of the safety program, both in the office and in the field, including utility-specific industrial safety; occupational health and safety; traffic safety; and hazardous materials abatement and management to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA and Cal/OSHA) and compliance with applicable environmental requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Performs ergonomic evaluations of employee work settings; evaluates workplace and equipment layouts and lighting; makes recommendations to resolve any problems or issues identified including any needed equipment accommodations/modification.
  • Lead safety/environmental incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans. Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, State/Local Regulators
  • Develops, coordinates and/or conducts assigned training classes and programs in a variety of safety and environmental health areas.
  • Reviews documentation of safety training conducted in departments to ensure mandated safety training requirements are being met.
  • Participates in the departmental Safety Committee, reviews and conducts safety accident investigations to determine root cause and mitigate risks, and ensures follow-up corrective action, when applicable.
  • Creates a variety of safety-related reports including Cal/OSHA mandatory reports; works with sections to implement workplace/operational/equipment modifications to resolve safety problems.
  • Develops and maintains detailed records including locations and inspections of potentially hazardous areas or materials.
  • Maintains current knowledge of state and federal legislation and regulatory changes and makes recommendations accordingly.
  • Performs research and special projects as assigned; maintains a variety of records and files related to the work; prepares reports and other written materials.

What You'll Bring

  • Background in electrical utility, telecom, and or construction highly preferred
  • Three to Five years of experience in occupational employee health and safety required.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations applied within the industry as they relate to employee health, safety and site control.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $35.00/Hr. - depending on experience and qualifications.
