About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Representative to join our team who has expereince in the utility space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to underground gas distribution systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Inspecting and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of underground gas distribution systems to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to evaluate potential hazards associated with underground gas distribution activities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees and contractors on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices for working with underground gas distribution systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant safety regulations and standards pertaining to underground gas distribution systems and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in a safety related role, highly preferred
  • Willing to accept newly graduated individuals who possess the desire to learn and grow with our company.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills, attention to detail
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related; highly preferred
  • Safety Licenses/Certifications preferred
    • CIH, CSP, CUSP, OSHT, CHS
  • Value a team environment and understanding supporting other individuals and teams
  • Ability to travel 5% outside of the Houston metro
