About this Role

PAR Western Line Contractors, LLC (dba QUES) provides engineering, procurement and construction services for comprehensive infrastructure needs in the electric power, oil and natural gas industries. QUES has the knowledge and expertise to handle a full spectrum of projects. From the most straightforward, single-component installation to the most complex, multi-state projects, QUES handles the job safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.  

 

We are looking for an experienced utility construction Project Manager to help drive substation operations in California and nearby states. The Project Manager will provide overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from initial bid preparation through completion. They are responsible for delivering the project safely, in accordance with quality standards, on time, and within budget.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and manage project scope and develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders
  • Provide oversight of project financials and contract management
  • Project cost forecasting, monthly cost to complete development, and accuracy of reporting
  • Oversight of project invoicing or payment application process
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers
  • Work closely with construction crews to ensure successful delivery of multiple projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Setup, organize, update, and maintain electronic and printed files of project documents utilizing Microsoft Office Suite; Primavera P6; EcoSys; QuickBase; B2W; and others
  • Review cost reports and evaluate methods to reduce cost while maintaining productivity
  • Manage budget projection for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project
  • Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by management

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in a construction environment
  • Electrical utility experience is preferred but not required
  • Must be willing to travel short and long-term, mostly within CA, but also nearby states when needed
  • Estimating experience or willingness to learn is preferred
  • Must be highly motivated and able to take initiative
  • Must have a good understanding of project controls and profit and loss financials 
  • Ability to understand process development and maintenance 
  • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) and ability to lead meetings
  • Ability to track multiple projects at the same time to ensure on-time completion 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint
  • Familiarity with or ready to learn corporate systems with preference given to Primavera P6, JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, QuickBase, and B2W technology platforms

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $130,000.00/Yr. - USD $165,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
