About this Role

The Payroll Administrator will collect and review timekeeping information, and issues employee paychecks. The Payroll Administrator will audit and verify all time keeping records of employees’ hours worked, as well as any deductions or withholdings required to comply with state and federal law.

What You'll Do

  • Collect and review timekeeping information
  • Calculate wages and salaries
  • Issue employees’ wages by check or electronic transfer
  • Work cross-departmentally with Accounting to ensure payroll runs smoothly
  • Maintain employee data
  • Calculate pay raises, shift payments and overtime compensation
  • Issue tax forms and related documentation and assist employees with completion 
  • Deduct tax and insurance payments 
  • Resolve issues employees have with timesheets, pay slips and other payroll matters
  • Clarify data from the divisions
  • Change employee bank records when necessary to process payments accurately
  • Update direct deposit information
  • Keep track of each employee’s daily timesheet data throughout duration of each pay period
  • Record employee complaints, questions and concerns about payroll services and communicate those issues to the HR Manager
  • Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks
  • All other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Strong Knowledge of Finance and Human Resource policies, procedures and practices
  • Strong knowledge of general business and accounting practices
  • Knowledge of payroll, garnishments and benefits distribution
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of different types of payroll software
  • Understanding of union contracts, rate schedules and benefits is a plus
  • Excellent mathematical and calculation skills
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain employee confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, with the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks while maintaining focus on deadlines
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good research and analysis skills
  • General computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
