About this Role

Provide unit pricing on distribution work orders utilizing contractual job aids. Deliver overall administrative, technical, and financial management of the project from work order release to the field through completion under the guidance of the division project management department.  Responsible for ensuring work order adherence and accuracy to the contract job aids and customer technical standards, while maintaining productive and positive relationships with field operations, subcontractors, customer, and division office personnel.

What You'll Do

  • Unit price Southern California Edison (SCE) utility distribution work orders utilizing contractual job aids for work to include, but not limited to deteriorated poles, capital hand-offs, overhead maintenance, overhead reconductors, and various underground projects.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with SCE counterparts on unit pricing discrepancies while simultaneously ensuring due dates are met.
  • Works closely with the division project management department to ensure consistency and adherence to organizational best practices.
  • Works closely with the construction management to ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Maintain a professional appearance with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and to provide positive leadership to motivate personnel.
  • Define problems, collect information, and establish facts to provide an appropriate resolution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Setup, organize, update, and maintain electronic and printed files of working documents in accordance with outlined document control practices.
  • Monitor construction progress through communication with superintendent, general foreman, and field office staff to ensure the project reporting is accurate.
  • Work with senior project manager to oversee job aids and contracts to protect company’s interest while maintaining good relationships.
  • Review cost reports and job detail reports to evaluate accuracy for crew, equipment, and subcontractor charges.
  • Assist with management of budget projections for labor, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project.
  • Responsible for working with senior project manager and superintendent to provide project cost forecasting, monthly cost to complete development, and accuracy of reporting.
  • Responsible for monitoring the quality of weekly labor and equipment hours and subcontractor reporting.
  • Responsible for tracking productivity and contractual performance of the project.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, as required, including the formulation of the agenda and minutes.
  • Develop, submit, track, and maintain all project submittals and requests for information.
  • Develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders.
  • Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by senior project manager, operations manager, or director of business operations.

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of design, estimating, construction, finance, and management.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and activities.
  • Accounting (math and record-keeping) to include the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
  • Familiar with Quickbase, JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, and Bid 2 Win technology platforms.
  • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening).
  • Effective motivational and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and contract

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $122,000.00/Yr. - depending on experience and qualifications.
