About this Role

Northstar Energy Solutions is looking for a highly skilled Class A CDL Driver to support our gas construction operations. This position is responsible for safely operating CDL-regulated vehicles, including dump trucks, vac trailer-mounted units, and other heavy equipment used in utility and pipeline construction projects. As a valued member of a construction crew, this individual will not only transport equipment and materials but will also actively assist with field construction activities to support project completion. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and willing to work alongside crew members in a hands-on utility construction environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate Class A CDL vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
  • Transport equipment, materials, tools, and supplies to and from project sites.
  • Operate vac trailer-mounted units, dump trucks, and other CDL-regulated vehicles as required.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs.
  • Assist gas construction crews with daily field activities, including excavation support, material handling, cleanup, and other labor tasks.
  • Load, secure, and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support construction activities related to underground gas utility installation, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and project personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance checks and report deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Travel to various job sites throughout the service area as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (No “L” Restriction)
  • Tanker Endorsement preferred.
  • Experience operating dump trucks, vacuum trailers, or other construction-related CDL equipment preferred.
  • Previous experience in utility, pipeline, gas distribution, construction, or heavy civil environments preferred.
  • Ability to safely drive and maneuver commercial vehicles in various weather and job site conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and terrain.
  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings, including DOT drug testing and motor vehicle record review.

 

Educational/Certification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL with air brakes. (No “L” Restriction)
  • Tanker Endorsement preferred.
  • Current DOT Medical Card required or ability to obtain upon hire.
