About this Role

NorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services company specializing in pipeline infrastructure construction, is seeking an Associate Project Manager and Estimator to support its construction team in Huntersville, North Carolina. This early career role combines project coordination and estimating responsibilities. The position assists project managers throughout the project lifecycle, prepares and maintains estimates, tracks project costs, and helps keep office and field teams aligned.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare project estimates by reviewing scope, quantities, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
  • Support project managers with planning, coordination, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Prepare, review, and track project invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized project records, including estimates, contracts, correspondence, drawings, and reports.
  • Coordinate project requirements, documentation, and updates between office personnel and field teams.
  • Track job costs and assist with estimate at completion reporting, forecasts, and variance reviews.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors regarding scope, schedules, documentation, and project requirements.
  • Submit and maintain One Call notifications and updates in accordance with project needs and applicable requirements.
  • Visit local project sites as needed to review progress, verify conditions, and support project coordination.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, building science, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook; familiarity with Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with office and field teams.
  • Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, manage competing priorities, and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to project sites.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, apprenticeship, or up to three years of experience in construction, pipeline construction, project coordination, or estimating.
  • Coursework or practical experience in construction methods, estimating, scheduling, cost control, or project management.
  • Exposure to pipeline or utility construction and field operations.
