About this Role

Flare Construction is hiring for an Accounts Payable Clerk. The AP Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, handling payments, and maintaining accurate financial records to support month-end close activities. This role ensures compliance with internal controls and financial policies while providing timely and professional support to vendors and internal teams. This position is in the Coalville, Utah Office.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices: Match, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
  • Handle payments: Prepare and process checks, ACH, or wire transfers
  • Manage vendors: Maintain vendor records and respond to payment inquiries
  • Reconcile accounts: Ensure AP ledger accuracy and support month-end close
  • Maintain records: File invoices and payment documentation for audit readiness
  • Ensure compliance: Follow internal policies and financial controls
  • Office-based role in a professional business environment using standard office equipment
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, standard business hours; occasional extended hours during critical accounting periods
  • Must handle confidential financial and employee information with integrity and discretion
  • Must meet deadlines consistently while maintaining accuracy and compliance with company policies

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., JD Edwards, Viewpoint, QuickBooks)
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting and cost code allocation
  • Basic understanding of invoice matching, purchase orders, and vendor payments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency with accounting ERP systems
  • Effective communication with vendors and internal departments
  • Problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
