  • Overview

    The Senior Manager, Tax (International) manages all cross boarder and non-US ASC740 tax accounting and tax compliance functions for the company and ensures that all areas of the company’s taxation issues are adequately and timely addressed.


    SCOPE: Corporate and Operating Units



    • Responsible for accounting for international income taxes including the preparation of the international tax provision.
    • Manages the international tax compliance process, including the review of tax returns prepared by outside firms for income taxes and withholding taxes on related party transactions.
    • Responsible for overseeing U.S. International disclosure (i.e. Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 926) process for over 100+ entities.
    • Responsible for overseeing internal Canadian Tax Manager and Canadian domestic tax compliance process for 45+ legal entities.
    • Responsible for overseeing the internal transfer pricing manager and all transfer pricing related disclosures, including Country by Country reporting and Local Files worldwide.
    • Regularly advises independent subsidiaries on the costs and reporting requirements for entering new tax jurisdictions.
    • Assists in identifying structuring opportunities to limit tax exposure for cross border work.
    • Manages PE exposure and compliance across a decentralized organization.
    • Oversees further development of international tax processes and procedures.
    • Works with Treasury and Accounting teams to manage thin capitalization profile of foreign subsidiaries.
    • Recruits, manages, mentors and leads a team of international tax professionals.
    • Interacts with taxing authorities and external auditors by providing timely responses to information requests and works through complex corporate tax issues.
    • Ability to work in an unstructured, rapidly changing environment while managing competing priorities effectively and balancing the needs of various internal and external stakeholders.
    • Performs tax research and analysis on numerous diverse tax issues.
    • Actively identifies planning opportunities and supports the Senior Manager of Tax Planning in implementing cross boarder planning projects.
    • Must stay current with U.S. tax legislation and cross border issues in a variety of jurisdictions.
    • Ensures compliance with SOX controls – updates controls on an as needed basis.
    • Responsible for purchase accounting for non-U.S. acquisitions.
    • Participates on cross functional project teams working on key company initiatives.
    • Participates in Foreign Exchange risk management discussions with Treasury and Accounting personnel.
    • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.




    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
    • 8 – 10+ years of experience in working with a corporate tax department and public accounting firm.
    • Strong federal and International income tax experience.
    • Working knowledge of international corporate tax issues.
    • Strong working knowledge of GAAP.


    Preferred Education and Experience:

    Master’s Degree in Taxation



    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
