The ComTran Group is looking for an Outside Plant Underground Foreman. As the Foreman you will be responsible of an underground crew and responsible for daily crew operations.
Operate equipment necessary for OSP tasks such as mini excavator, skid steer, front end loader, fork lift, installing handholes, excavating around utilities, fiber jetting unit etc.
Accurately complete all daily paperwork.
Cover daily safety topics.
Write JTSA's (Job Task Safety Analysis).
Ensure crew understands roles and responsibilities.
Train new crew members.
Verify all locates and all job set-up details regarding digging operations.
Trench, install manholes/handholes, backfill and restore ground to previous condition (seed and straw or sod) accordingly.
Class A CDL
Minimum of 3 years of OSP UG Crew experience
Confined Space Training
Ability to set up safe and proper manhole entry
Experience installing cable, conduit, handholes or other product in ground
Pulling/jetting cable or other pathway through underground systems
Ability to professionally work with inspectors, customer, landowners and the public on occasion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
