If you enjoy working with a great group of professionals, thrive in a hands-on environment, and are passionate about keeping equipment running at peak performance, then we have a role for you! Potelco, Inc. is seeking a Repair Center Supervisor to join our team in Frederickson, WA.

This is a working team lead position responsible for hands-on repair and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, and small tool equipment, including generators, plate compactors (whackers), hole hogs, and similar construction tools. You will lead a team of three technicians while actively performing repairs alongside them. A key focus of this role is driving the reform and continuous improvement of our Repair Center operations, establishing efficient workflows, quality standards, and accountability within the shop.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year (depending on experience)

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Repair Center Reform

  • Lead, mentor, and direct a team of three repair technicians, setting daily priorities and work assignments.
  • Develop and implement standardized repair processes, workflows, and quality control procedures to reform and improve Repair Center operations.
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability standards for turnaround time, repair quality, and shop organization.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and professional development within the team.

Hydraulic & Pneumatic Equipment Repair

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings.
  • Service and rebuild pneumatic tools and systems used in utility construction operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and develop PM schedules for hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and equipment condition in fleet management systems.

Small Tool Repair & Maintenance

  • Repair and maintain portable generators, plate compactors (whackers), hole hogs, tampers, cut-off saws, and similar small tools.
  • Perform engine diagnostics, carburetor rebuilds, electrical troubleshooting, and general mechanical repairs on gas and battery-powered equipment.
  • Manage small tool inventory, track equipment condition, and recommend replacement or retirement of tools beyond economical repair.
  • Ensure all repaired equipment meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards before returning to service.

Shop Operations & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Manage parts inventory, place orders, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts procurement.
  • Implement and enforce proper tool storage, labeling, and tracking systems.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all team members follow proper PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or small engine repair.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, including the ability to direct and develop a small team.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across hydraulic systems, pneumatic tools, and small gas/battery-powered equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and fleet/shop management best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
  • Proficiency with common diagnostic tools, meters, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience with fleet management or work order systems (e.g., Fleetio, AssetWorks, or similar) is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications in hydraulics, small engine repair, or related fields are preferred.
  • Experience in utility construction or a related heavy civil/infrastructure industry is preferred.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $100,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
