About this Role

IFS InfraSource is looking for an experienced utility construction Project Manager to join our team. This Project Manager plans and oversees complex utility infrastructure projects to ensure they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role has responsibility for project financials, schedule performance, customer relationships, and contract execution from award through closeout.  This position requires approximately 80% travel, with extended time spent in the field supporting construction activities. Successful candidates must reside in the Northeast region of the U.S. and be comfortable working in dynamic, fastpaced field environments and traveling as business needs require.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee project office set-up, including systems, controls, and reporting processes
  • Create and own the project execution plan, including safety, staffing, scheduling, and productivity targets
  • Develop, maintain and update project documentation and project file system (physical and electronic)
  • Manage projects with responsibility for overall P&L performance, including budget adherence, margin protection, and cost controls
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, inspectors, and key stakeholders
  • Ensure stakeholder notification and buy-in
  • Collaborate with field supervision, estimating, safety, and support teams to achieve project objectives
  • Estimate costs based on provided estimating tools and/or work with others to develop budgets
  • Full understanding of the project contract
  • Ensuring Change Orders are documented per the contract
  • Complete project close-out per company policy
  • Accruals are tracked weekly/monthly and turned in at the end of every week
  • Develop and maintain critical path schedules in MS Project and/or Primavera P6
  • Prepare and present weekly project status reports covering cost, schedule, risk, and production
  • Work interdepartmentally to make sure all revenue is accounted for and accurate
  • Forecasting cost scope schedule resources daily/weekly/monthly
  • End of month explanations for variances to forecast
  • Work with internal support groups to set up projects in the accounting system

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience managing Natural Gas or utility infrastructure construction projects (distribution, transmission, or related utility work)
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in utility, industrial, or heavy construction environments
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to interpret field conditions and communicate project requirements
  • Ability to develop and communicate ideas regarding the project
  • Ability to apply established project management methodologies to complex field construction environments
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and earned value
  • Desired: PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification
