About this Role

Probst Electric, Inc. is seeking a driven and analytical Accounting Analyst to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Shared Services Controller, this role supports the company’s accounting and financial operations by analyzing financial data, assisting with reporting, and helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

What You'll Do

The Accounting Analyst role will have various accounting and finance responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Perform general ledger and cost accounting functions in support of construction operations
  • Prepare and assist with monthly balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accurate financials
  • Reconcile fixed assets, intercompany, payroll, or other general ledger accounts—collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies
  • Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and cross-departmental workflow
  • Support preparation and filing of required federal, state, and local tax forms
  • Provide accounting support and training across departments
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed to support business operations

What You'll Bring

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field
  • At least three years of related experience required
  • Prior construction industry experience or public accounting experience is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office abilities
  • Experience with JD Edwards and BI software is a plus
  • Experience with payroll tax filings
  • Ability to pass required drug and background screening
