About this Role

Potelco, Inc. is seeking a BIM Technician to support high-voltage outside plant work for a large-scale data center project.

 

This role will partner closely with a team of Project Managers and field leadership to develop, coordinate, and maintain Building Information Models (BIM) for high-voltage transmission and distribution scope. The BIM Technician will play a key role in model coordination, material development, constructability reviews, and the creation of accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support procurement and field execution. This role will include 50% travel.

What You'll Do

BIM & Modeling Support: 

  • Develop, maintain, and update 3D models for high-voltage outside plant (OSP) infrastructure supporting data center construction. 
  • Support clash detection and coordination efforts across multiple disciplines. 
  • Maintain model accuracy and ensure alignment with issued construction documents. 
  • Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs and revisions. 

 

Bills of Materials & Documentation: 

  • Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on construction drawings and models. 
  • Support material tracking and documentation for procurement and field teams. 
  • Maintain organized digital files and version control standards. 

 

Project Support: 

  • Provide support to multiple Project Managers. 
  • Participate in coordination meetings with clients, engineers, and subcontractors. 
  • Assist with field verification of modeled components when required. 
  • Support schedule-driven deliverables in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. 

 

Quality & Development: 

  • Follow company and client BIM standards and processes. 
  • Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and model accuracy. 
  • Continue developing technical knowledge in high-voltage power delivery systems. 

 

  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned. 

What You'll Bring

 

  • 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination and modeling within construction, utilities, or infrastructure. 
  • Experience working in Autodesk platforms (Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks). 
  • Demonstrated experience assisting with Bills of Materials or quantity takeoffs. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Must pass mandatory drug screening(s). 
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $33.00/Hr. - USD $48.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
