The Compliance Manager reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and is a member of the Legal Compliance & Ethics (LCE) function within the corporate Legal Department.  The Compliance Manager supports the Chief Compliance Officer, as well as other departments, and is responsible for carrying out legal compliance and ethics initiatives throughout the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Manages control systems and processes designed to prevent or mitigate issues related to compliance with laws, regulations, the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related policies, procedures, processes and standards.
  • Leads the Company’s compliance due diligence process for proposed agents, intermediaries, business partners and acquisitions.
  • Assists with the ethics and compliance-related risk assessment process, including performing analysis of data gathered during the risk assessment process.
  • Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, resolves routine compliance issues.
  • Assists counsel in locating and securing documents, records, and witnesses for LCE inquiries and investigations.
  • Organizes and maintains LCE records and files.
  • Maintains and updates compliance database by inputting and tracking case-related information and generating reports.
  • Aids the Chief Compliance Officer in preparation of case reports.
  • Assists in delivering and tracking annual online and in-person training on LCE issues, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and compliance with anti-corruption, antitrust and trade controls laws, among others.
  • Leads the conduct of annual Compliance-related questionnaires, surveys and certifications, including the annual Code of Ethics and Business Conduct certification, the annual ethical culture survey and the annual Anti-Boycott Survey.
  • Assists in development and implementation of quarterly newsletters and periodic notices.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate.
  • 2+ years of experience in international and compliance legal work, with law firm or in-house legal group.
  • Law Degree (Juris Doctor) is preferred.
  • Experience with compliance issues in Central and South America is preferred.
  • Advanced level of English knowledge required; Spanish language skill (conversational) a strong plus
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Subject Matter Expertise/Familiarity:
  • Anti-bribery and anti-corruption law due diligence (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with little supervision.
