This role is responsible for leading multiple infrastructure resources in areas of operations, projects and initiatives that align with IT strategy. The Manager will be responsible for developing their teams and producing efficiencies through cross training and mentorship. The Manager integrates current architectures, create technical documentation and oversees implementation of technology and ensures the operations of this technology. Expectations are to work under broad direction and perform work that ranges from conceptual and strategic to tactical. This individual will also be responsible for infrastructure services across the enterprise at multiple data centers, coordinates responsibilities and collaborates among other managers and teams and supporting all operating units in technology matters. The Manager, Systems Administrator’s role is to manage servers both on-prem and cloud infrastructure and responsible for operations at all the data centers. This role will ensure high levels of availability of the supported business applications and be a primary resource for server, data center operations and cloud (Azure) support and maintenance. This individual will also participate in the planning and implementation of Infrastructure initiatives that are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple resources across the enterprise in complex environments.
  • Develop team members to produce efficiencies and cross train resources.
  • Manage and execute on complex projects and deliver technology to business.
  • Documents and communicates all infrastructure architecture designs and standards.
  • Manages the functional attributes (performance, throughput, availability, capacity, security) of components and develop infrastructure standards.
  • Researches, identifies and recommends industry best practices for solving business problems.
  • Maintains knowledge of IT Infrastructure architecture, standards and practices and consistently applies these standards.
  • Oversee resources for troubleshooting and resolution of production system issues.
  •  Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
  • Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, policy and procedures and associated training plans are in place for all platforms.
  • Supervises a team that supports, designs and implements cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS) in Azure.
  • Oversees the Azure enrollment for the enterprise.
  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting the operations at the Data Centers.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots and administrates Dell and HP Server Blades and Chassis Hardware.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots and administrates SCOM, SCCM, CITRIX
  •  Understanding of VMWare, Virtualization, NetApp and Storage
  • Manages, configures and deploys all MS server operating systems and Linux.
  • Manages end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures the ability to recover the system environment to a current operational state in a timely manner, in the event of a major system problem or disaster.
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Monitors existing infrastructure hardware and software and tracks and updates incident and changes in ticket management system.
  • Identifies events, alerts, or configurations that may have negative impact to the environment and resolve or escalate according to company polices.
  • Ability to travel 10%
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years Azure or other cloud infrastructure experience (IaaS, PaaS).
  • Minimum of 10 years management experience (Design, Implement, Upgrade, Support, Maintain).
  • Microsoft Windows Server, VMWare, ITIL (Preferred)
  • ITIL Foundation - preferred
  • MCITP - preferred
  • Intermediate level Spanish preferred
  • Customer service oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of available IT
  • Uses excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills along with a patient, positive, and customer-friendly attitude within a team
  • Demonstrates outstanding customer orientation and desire to enable client productivity.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of organization; utilizes appropriate communication channels for given situations.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
