About this Role

Quanta Services is expanding its Major Projects Reporting Team and seeking a Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist to support various business functions, including Executive Leadership, Finance & Accounting, Project Management, Project Controls and various Operating Units (OpU’s) and platform companies that participate in the execution of Major Quanta Projects. As a Data Analyst and Reporting Specialist, you’ll report to the Senior Director of Major Projects Reporting while also being a virtual team member for various regional teams and OpU’s. You will dive deep into your business function(s), understand data analytics and business intelligence needs, and translate them into actionable solutions, and identify areas of risk and opportunity.  Your work will drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization, specifically as it relates to Key project actionable items and information supporting internal customers. 

What You'll Do

Data Analytics:

  • Understand the data analytics, core KPI’s and business intelligence needs and focus efforts on solutions for reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize Dashboard initiatives.

Roadmap Development:

  • Create a comprehensive roadmap for data analytics work within Major Projects Reporting in support of the strategic objectives of the Company.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders and data stewards when adding new content to the data governance systems for visual reporting.
  • Partner with EPC project subject-matter experts to validate accuracy and consistency of data, and drive replication of quality data.
  • Harness a culture of continuous improvement to look for opportunities that provide solutions that will improve the data quality and content.
  • Deliver key milestones for project setup and reporting.

Project Management:

 

  • Manage the delivery of the BI roadmap to internal and external customers.
  • This role requires basic knowledge of the EPC Project execution lifecycle as well as operational reporting requirements i.e. safety, quality, and productivity etc.
  • Utilize a monthly release planning methodology to ensure timely execution and accurate reporting.

Data Schema Creation:

  • Work closely with the OpU’s to onboard relevant data sources into BI, date repository and help to develop sustainable solutions for meta data storage.
  • Refine and join datasets to create function-specific business reporting.

Dashboard Development:

 

  • Build interactive dashboards using Power BI, Ecosys and/or Incorta.
  • Empower stakeholders with actionable visualizations.

Ad Hoc Analyses:

  • Perform ad hoc business analyses as needed to address specific challenges or opportunities.
  • Ability to work with general supervision, across multiple teams and projects simultaneously to participate in project setup while fostering strong relationships. Propose and maintain project endeavors, develop plans, monitor and communicate analysis and reporting project status to stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science (Business Intelligence / Data Processing) or Information Systems Technology (Accounting / Finance major or minor a plus), provides a strong foundation for this role.
  • 3+ years of experience in building high-quality, executive dashboards and reporting content is essential. Demonstrating a track record of creating visually appealing and insightful dashboards is crucial.
  • Must have an above average attention to detail ability to ensure visual reporting is accurate.

Technical Skills:

  • Power BI: Expertise with Power BI is a must. Familiarity with Incorta and EcoSys is a bonus, as it expands your toolkit for data visualization and analysis.
  • DAX, Power Query, and SQL: Proficiency in creating complex metrics and calculations using these tools is vital.
  • Data Integration: BI developers should have experience using a diversity of data sources and the ability to properly join them to create comprehensive data sets.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Ideally, candidates should have data analytics experience in one or more of these areas: Accounting / Finance, Project Management, Quality, and Supply Chain. Understanding the specific business context enhances the effectiveness of BI solutions.

Source Systems:

  • It’s advantageous to have worked with one or more of these source systems: JD Edwards, EcoSys, Procore, and Primavera P6.

Additional Tools and Platforms:

  • Familiarity with the following Microsoft tools will be beneficial: Microsoft Office, Forms, Lists, SharePoint, and Power Automate. This will allow us to semi-automate various non-systemic data sources.
