About this Role

The Warehouse Associate in Sumner, WA plays a critical role in supporting our operations by traveling to bases throughout the Puget Sound area while developing a strong working knowledge of warehouse processes, materials management, and inventory control.

 

Safety is Potelco’s number one priority. This role requires active participation in safety meetings, inspections, and reporting, along with maintaining all required certifications and licenses.

 

The pay range for this role is $25-$27/hour, depending on experience.

What You'll Do

Running / Material Delivery

  • Transport materials, tools, and equipment between Potelco locations throughout the Puget Sound
  • Deliver shipments to field crews and other Potelco teams in a timely, safe, and professional manner
  • Verify delivery accuracy, obtain required documentation, and communicate any issues or shortages

Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive incoming materials, inspect for accuracy and damage, and verify documentation
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or damaged shipments
  • Perform proper packaging teardown, labeling, and safe storage of materials

Inventory & Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate records of receipts, issuances, and inventory movements
  • Ensure inventory systems match physical stock and maintain master data as required
  • Support ongoing inventory audits and accuracy initiatives

Picking & Staging

  • Select materials requested by field crews
  • Pack materials safely and protectively, consolidating shipments for ease of transport
  • Mark, repack, and prepare materials as needed for distribution

Loading & Unloading

  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, backhoes, or manual methods as required
  • Verify paperwork accuracy and ensure timely unloading of materials

Warehouse & Yard Operations

  • Maintain clean, organized, and orderly warehouse and yard areas
  • Support warehouse operations as needed
  • Perform general warehouse functions and other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience handling, recording, and controlling a wide variety of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment using computerized inventory systems
  • Ability to operate standard computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds consistently and repetitively; up to 100 pounds occasionally using proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to identify when assistance or equipment is required to safely move heavy or bulky items
  • Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of weight, volume, and distance
  • Ability to obtain a Material Handling Equipment Operator’s Certificate within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification within one year of employment

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $25.00/Hr. - USD $27.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
