The Global Position System (GPS) Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and development within the GPS / Fleet Management function. As a GPS Manager, this position is responsible for managing the deployment and on-going support of the GPS hardware and application to Quanta Operating Units. The GPS Manager will coordinate delivery of training to end users and field technicians as well as manage the relationships with all vendors associated with the GPS application. In addition, the GPS Manager will work with the 3rd Party Vendors, Operating Unit Equipment and Operations managers and Quanta Corporate Management on researching, developing and implementing methods to improve operating efficiency, reduce cost and increase revenue. Through direct contact with the teams across Quanta, this position will participate in identifying opportunities, collecting and analyzing business requirements, performing data analysis and generating reports to address business needs.


  • Leads GPS initiatives on all aspects of the business including: implementing into processes, training, supporting and enforcing policy.
  • Leads and directs all associated project work related to GPS and Quanta’s equipment operations.
  • Makes recommendations and presents business cases to implement strategic / tactical initiatives and best practices across equipment operations.
  • Continually evaluates and confirms GPS vendor’s compliance with all aspects of the service agreement.
  • Serves as the main point of contact with GPS vendor application support. Develops communications and oversees the creation / delivery of training.
  • Analyzes the system to ascertain whether it is functioning per the needs and objectives of the company.
  • Works with finance to allocate costs and savings appropriately.
  • Meets with current providers regarding service / compliance issues or changing needs.
  • Facilitates the execution of changes and activities needed to support the GPS application and equipment operations.
  • Runs daily, weekly and monthly KPI Reports.
  • Travels up to 25% regionally and nationally to support deployment, training and operational meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain or equivalent field OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in equipment operations, including 2 or more years in management position.
  • Knowledge of safety processes and regulatory requirements related to transportation (DOT).
