About this Role

Quanta Services operates through 40+ autonomous operating companies delivering critical infrastructure projects across North America. As we scale beyond $27B, technology is a key enabler of field success—and our Strategic Technology Engagement Managers ensure every operating company (OpCo) has the support, tools, and partnership needed to deliver.

We're seeking a Senior Strategic Technology Engagement Manager to embed with our OpCos serving as the strategic connector between field operations, OpCo IT, and Enterprise IT. This role combines elements of enterprise account management, management consulting, and customer success—translating business needs into technology solutions while rolling out enterprise capabilities across diverse customer groups.

The (Senior) Strategic Technology Engagement Manager serves as a strategic connector between Quanta Enterprise IT and Operating Companies, aligning business objectives with technology solutions through trusted partnership, operational insight, and proactive support. This role bridges strategy and execution—embedding with OpCos to translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure smooth delivery of both enterprise-driven and OpCo-initiated projects. STEMs operate within a federated environment, balancing enterprise standards with local autonomy, and play a key role in demand management, technology enablement, and change adoption.

This is a senior-level role comparable to Engagement Manager positions at top consulting firms or Senior Customer Success Manager roles at enterprise technology companies. You'll work directly with OpCo Presidents, CFOs, and executive leadership teams—serving as their trusted technology advisor and primary connection to Enterprise IT capabilities.

What You'll Do

Serve as Trusted Strategic Partner & Advisor

Embed with a region or cohort of OpCos, serving as their primary technology partner and primary point of contact for Enterprise IT engagement. Build deep, trusted relationships with OpCo Presidents, CFOs, IT leaders, and business stakeholders—understanding their business operations, strategic priorities, technology landscape, and competitive pressures.

Know your customers deeply. Develop intimate knowledge of each OpCo's business model, field operations, IT environment, vendor relationships, and organizational dynamics. Understand their tech stack in detail so you can proactively spot opportunities, anticipate challenges, and provide relevant guidance. When Enterprise IT considers rolling out a new capability, you're the voice that says "This will work great for these three OpCos, but these two will struggle because..." This depth of customer knowledge—combined with your focus on driving measurable OpCo success and satisfaction—is what makes you invaluable.

Act as strategic advisor to OpCo leadership—helping them navigate Enterprise IT constraints, services, dependencies; you’ll solve complex business-technology problems, and connect to the right Enterprise teams and capabilities. Provide thought leadership on technology strategy, influence OpCos to align with Enterprise IT direction where beneficial, and help them leverage enterprise scale while maintaining the autonomy that makes them successful.

Serve as the OpCo's advocate and voice within Enterprise IT—channeling field feedback to shape, prioritize, and improve corporate capabilities. Trouble shoot OpCo issues with enterprise IT, connect them with the right enterprise teams or sister companies, shape demand they have, and help source and oversee vendor and consulting capacity for strategic OpCo-driven projects when needed. Function as a trusted single point of accountability.

Coordinate Enterprise Solution Rollout & Adoption

Partner with Enterprise IT delivery teams to roll out enterprise-driven initiatives and/or products (cloud migration, new platforms, security updates, enterprise applications) across your OpCo portfolio. Collaborate with these teams to translate technical roadmaps into OpCo-friendly implementation plans, adapting communications, training, and support to each company's maturity and readiness.

Work with Enterprise IT teams to coordinate pilots and phased deployments across your OpCos, gathering field feedback to refine solutions before broader rollout. Ensure OpCos understand "what's in it for them" and achieve measurable adoption and value realization. Troubleshoot friction points during rollouts and drive resolution in partnership with delivery teams.

Capture Field Intelligence & Enable Demand Management

Document OpCo requests, pain points, opportunities, and feedback—serving as the structured channel for field signal to inform Enterprise IT prioritization and continuous improvement. Conduct discovery conversations to understand current state, business context, and desired outcomes for OpCo-initiated needs.

Partner with the Intake Managers and Solution Architects to frame and scope OpCo-initiated projects, translating raw requests into structured opportunity statements. Help OpCos articulate business value and ROI to support funding decisions. Facilitate handoffs between discovery, intake, planning, and execution—ensuring OpCos know what to expect and when.

Enable Collaboration & Cross-Company Value

Identify patterns and common needs across your OpCo portfolio and the broader Quanta landscape. Connect OpCos facing similar challenges to share learnings, solutions, and best practices. Help OpCos leverage enterprise capabilities (shared services, tools, vendor contracts, centers of excellence) while respecting their operational autonomy.

Support M&A integration by introducing new acquisitions to Quanta's IT engagement model and helping them access enterprise capabilities while retaining what makes them unique.

What You'll Bring

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5-8 years business or technology consulting, engagement management, customer success management, or technical account leadership
  • Proven experience rolling out technical products, platforms, or solutions to multiple customer groups, business units, or markets—ideally in diverse or decentralized environments driving large enterprise rollouts and with measurable adoption and value realization. You understand product management best practices, pilot-to-scale methodologies, and how to drive adoption across varying maturity levels.
  • Executive presence and stakeholder management—comfortable presenting to and influencing C-suite stakeholders (Presidents, CFOs, CIOs). You've served as trusted advisor to senior business leaders and executive stakeholders and can translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Technical fluency across infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications, and data—you don't need to code, but you must understand how technology works, what "good" looks like
  • Strong business acumen—you understand P&Ls, ROI analysis, business case development, and can connect technology investments to business outcomes.
  • Leadership and influence without authority—you've driven outcomes in matrixed or federated environments where you must build consensus and influence through credibility, not control.
  • Project and program coordination—you've managed complex workstreams, coordinated cross-functional stakeholders, and delivered outcomes on time in ambiguous environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in management consulting or technical consulting roles
  • Background in enterprise account management or customer success at technology companies
  • Familiarity with construction, utilities, field operations, or industrial industries
  • Experience conducting discovery, scoping projects, business case development, or managing intake/demand funnels
  • Understanding of change management and technology adoption strategies

Key Competencies

  • Relationship Building: Quickly establish trust and credibility with executives, field operators, and technical teams across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Business Consulting: Ask incisive questions, surface root causes, synthesize complex information, and recommend solutions aligned to business outcomes.
  • Technical Product Management: Understand product/platform rollout lifecycle from discovery through pilot to scale, including feedback loops, iteration, and adoption strategies.
  • Strategic Thinking: Connect dots between business strategy, operational needs, and technology capabilities. Think several moves ahead.
  • Problem-Solving: Navigate ambiguity, structure unstructured problems, and find pragmatic paths forward when perfect information isn't available.
  • Communication & Influence: Tailor messaging to different audiences (executives, IT leaders, field teams). Build consensus across stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Service Orientation: Lead with empathy, transparency, and a "how can I help?" mindset. Prioritize OpCo success over process compliance.

Personal Attributes

  • Field empathy—you respect the pressures and realities of field operations and adapt your approach accordingly.
  • Influence without authority—you drive outcomes through persuasion, partnership, and earned credibility.
  • Continuous improvement mindset—you proactively identify ways to work smarter, scale processes, and eliminate friction for yourself and others.
  • Ownership mentality—you take accountability for your OpCos' success and see their wins as your wins.
  • Adaptability—you thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments where priorities shift and field needs vary widely.

What You'll Get

Shape a Growing Function

This role is part of Operations IT—a capability that's only two years old at Quanta. You'll join a small, high-impact team that's actively defining how technology partnership works in a federated enterprise. You'll have direct influence on team strategy, operating models, and how we scale to support 40+ companies and Quanta’s continued M&A growth.

Executive Access & Strategic Impact

You'll work directly with OpCo Presidents, CFOs, and business leaders across multiple companies—not just IT contacts. Your recommendations will influence multi-million dollar technology investments and shape how companies think about and leverage technology for competitive advantage.

Transformation

We’re in a large transformation period as Quanta scales toward $60B: faster growth, sharper solution selling, and a step-change in how we deliver and prove technology value. The goal is to find the balance between our federated model and centralization that unlocks speed, consistency, and ultimately value. If you like building operating rhythms, playbooks, and metrics from the ground up—and want room to grow—this is that moment.

Federated Model, Entrepreneurial Culture

Quanta's OpCos run independently—your job is to enable their success, not control their technology. You'll experience the entrepreneurial energy of smaller companies while having the resources and scale of a $27B+ enterprise behind you.

TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Travel: 30-40% (mix of day trips and overnight visits to OpCo locations)
  • Physical Demands: Primarily office/desk work; occasional site visits to field operations
