About this Role

If you enjoy working with a great group of professionals, thrive in a fast-paced field environment, and are passionate about keeping people safe, we have a role for you! Potelco, Inc. is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator to join our Safety team.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with our field crews across medium- and high-voltage transmission, distribution, underground, and substation projects. You’ll play a key part in promoting a strong safety culture by conducting field observations, providing training, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role requires extensive local travel (approximately 80%) to job sites across the Washington Pacific Northwest region, with about 20% of the time spent in Oregon, North Idaho, and Montana.

 

The pay for this role is a range of $90,000-$120,000 depending on expercience. 

What You'll Do

Field Safety Oversight

  • Conduct job site safety observations and audits.
  • Provide guidance and education on safe work procedures, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support crews with hazard identification and mitigation.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the corporate safety program.

Training & Education

  • Facilitate new hire orientations and ongoing safety training.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and job hazard analysis (JHA) reviews.
  • Promote a total safety culture through coaching and mentoring in the field.

Incident Response & Reporting

  • Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
  • Complete reports for site observations, investigations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support emergency response and storm duty as needed.

Collaboration & Representation

  • Partner with field staff, project managers, and leadership to support safety initiatives.
  • Represent Potelco during on-site regulatory inspections.
  • Escort visitors and ensure adherence to site safety policies.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of professional safety experience or 3+ years of field experience in construction, utilities, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with medium- and high-voltage electrical work preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time across the Pacific Northwest.
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $900,000.00/Yr. - USD $120,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
