About this Role

IFS InfraSource is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our clean-energy construction team.  This renewable energy Project Manager will spearhead the coordination, execution, and delivery of commercial-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.  They will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role has responsibility for project financials, schedule performance, customer relationships, and contract execution from award through closeout.  This position requires approximately 75% travel, with extended time spent in the field supporting construction activities. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in dynamic, fastpaced field environments and traveling as business needs require. 

What You'll Do

  • Manage the full lifecycle of solar PV and battery storage projects (typically 5 MW to 25 MW commericalscale) including preconstruction planning, permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout 
  • Develop, maintain, and track project schedules and budgets, proactively managing variances and executing corrective actions, including recovery schedules, change strategies, and margin protection plans 
  • Coordinate project teams - engineers, site supervisors, QA/QC, safety officers, and subcontractors - to meet project objectives 
  • Serve as main liaison with clients, utilities, permitting bodies, vendors, and local authorities; maintain transparent communication 
  • Partner with field leadership to enforce rigorous QC standards and OSHA-level safety protocols; conduct site inspections and report non-conformance issues 
  • Administer and oversee subcontract and vendor contracts; review and process change orders and payment applications 
  • Update project risk registers; ensure compliance with NEC, UL, NFPA 70E, and local code requirements 
  • Deliver regular project updates, KPI dashboards, and close-out documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals 

What You'll Bring

  • 5 years construction project management, with at least 2 years focused on commercial-scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects 
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline. Relevant field experience and demonstrated growth is acceptable in lieu of a degree 
  • Deep familiarity with solar PV and BESS systems - modules, inverters, BESS chemistries, SCADA - and related civil/electrical construction processes 
  • Proficient in MS Project and/or Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore (or similar), and MS Office suite 
  • Strong leadership with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; proven ability managing multidisciplinary teams 
  • Preferred NABCEP PV Installer certification and/or experience with grid-interconnection processes (ISO, RTOs), and familiarity with energy market/regulatory frameworks 
  • Willingness to travel 60–80%, including extended stays at construction sites in remote or rural locations 
  • Must reside within 50 miles of one of InfraSources operating units or locations
