Onsite position in our Columbus, OH office.
Travel up to 15% as needed to support project success across domestic project sites. 

 

Assistant Project Manager I (APM I) – Build What’s Next

Are you ready to launch your career in project management and make your mark on major infrastructure and industrial projects? As an Assistant Project Manager I, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the success of full lifecycle Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.

This is more than just a support role—you’ll be immersed in every phase of project delivery, working side by side with engineers, estimators, procurement specialists, project controls, and construction teams. If you’re detail-driven, resourceful, and eager to grow into project leadership, this is your chance to accelerate your career.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Project Managers to plan and execute projects from concept through close-out.

  • Track schedules, budgets, and milestones—keeping complex workstreams aligned.

  • Support contract drafting, vendor onboarding, and procurement execution.

  • Engage in constructability reviews, value engineering sessions, and risk assessments.

  • Manage project documentation (RFIs, submittals, reports) and ensure accuracy.

  • Collaborate with field teams to monitor progress and quickly resolve issues.

  • Champion safety and quality standards across all project activities.

  • Contribute to project close-out, turnover documentation, and lessons learned.

  • Step into the Project Manager role when delegated—proving your readiness for leadership.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. 

  • 1+ years of experience supporting construction or EPC project delivery.

  • Understanding of EPC contracting models and lifecycle project delivery.

  • Solid foundation in construction means/methods, scheduling, and design coordination.

  • Ability to read technical drawings, scopes of work, and contracts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with P6/MS Project, estimating, or document control software is a plus.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
