About this Role

Location: 3500 Colonnade Pkwy Suite 550, Birmingham, AL 35243

We are seeking a Structural Designer to join our EPC team, supporting projects in gas turbines, renewables, BESS, substations, and transmission systems. You will develop structural design deliverables and construction packages that ensure safety, accuracy, and integration with civil and other engineering disciplines.

What You'll Do

  • Draft structural plans and develop construction documents for steel, concrete, and composite structures.

  • Interpret structural calculations and interdisciplinary drawings.

  • Conduct field investigations to verify structural clearances and design feasibility.

  • Assist with cost estimation, material take-offs, and preliminary structural studies.

  • Review and validate drawings from other drafters.

  • Collaborate with engineers and support construction activities.

  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to team development.

What You'll Bring

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in structural drafting and design, preferably in EPC environments.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong knowledge of structural materials, systems, and construction practices.

  • Ability to interpret vendor drawings and integrate them into structural designs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with EPC workflows and interdisciplinary coordination.
