About this Role

P.J. Helicopters is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company by performing general ledger accounting duties, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting overall business operations. This role requires a working understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role is a unique opportunity including exposure to multi-state projects, aviation, and public company financial controls.

What You'll Do

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with government and parent company financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Assists in implementation of and compliance with internal controls including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information flow and support business operations.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned by management, contributing financial expertise and analysis.

  • Associates / Bachelor’s degree (or similar level of experience) in business or related field

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $25.00/Hr. - USD $30.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
