About this Role

The Inbound Logistics Coordinator at Ampacity plays a critical role in our Des Moines Distribution Center's daily operations. This position is responsible for organizing, monitoring, and staging all incoming products and materials from receipt through warehouse placement. Working closely with the Des Moines Warehouse Manager, the coordinator ensures accurate material acceptance, proper staging, and efficient inventory flow. Through experienced oversight and process management, this role drives delivery accuracy and enhances operational efficiency throughout our supply chain. 


Pay Range: $20-$24 per hour

What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute daily inbound shipment operations including receipt, verification, and warehousing of products  
  • Ensure accurate inventory system entry, efficient product slotting, and maximum warehouse space utilization  
  • Maintain quality control standards, report variances, and resolve operational problems in a timely manner  
  • Establish and implement operational policies for receiving routing, inventory management, and transportation  
  • Maintain accurate records, assist with physical inventories, and track serial data for warranty purposes  
  • Develop budgets based on customer forecasts and prepare capital requests for operational improvements  
  • Maintain safe warehouse operations and support special projects as assigned by management 

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in inbound logistics, warehouse management, or similar operations role  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to think critically and resolve issues  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and logistics systems  
  • Demonstrated success in distribution and logistics management with process improvement experience  
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects independently  
  • Associates degree in Business or related field preferred 

Physical Expectations

  • Indoor warehouse facility with regular exposure to dust, fumes, odors, varying temperatures, and machinery noise.
  • Fast-paced environment with heavy machinery operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.

Physical Expectations

  • Intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting materials up to 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, and pull equipment throughout the facility from floor to overhead storage areas.
