About this Role

Legend Foundation Safety, a division of Irby Construction and a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Coordinator with a foundations background to help lead and continuously improve safety performance across our foundation and civil construction projects.

 

This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in construction safety, who can promote a culture of safety excellence in a high-risk environment involving excavation, piling, deep foundation work, and heavy equipment operation.

 

This position will be located in Texas with travel to projects. Must be willing to travel.

What You'll Do

  • Champion all of Quanta Services safety protocols and ensure Legend Foundation Safety is adhering to them on all active project sites.
  • Proactively observe work activities and promote safe behaviors while correcting unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Apply expert knowledge of foundation and excavation hazards, trenching safety, crane operations, heavy rigging, and related site safety protocols.
  • Integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution, including pre-task planning and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training tailored to field crews, foremen, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct and document regular jobsite safety audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Lead or assist in incident investigations and root cause analyses; follow through on corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, federal/state/local regulations, and Legend’s internal policies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and support system for superintendents, project managers, and crew leaders on all safety matters.
  • Monitor and report on safety KPIs and contribute to safety committee initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of relevant safety experience in heavy civil, foundation, or general construction preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards, excavation/trenching requirements, and crane safety.
  • Must be willing to travel – project locations vary from Texas-Florida-Georgia-Arkansas.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • OSHA 510/500/511/501, OSHA 30, etc. preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to influence a wide range of field personnel.
  • Experience with formal Root Cause Analysis and incident investigation tools.
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED; trainer status preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
